^^ I don’t why I’m so in love with the traditional granny square crochet! Maybe I was thinking that literally, I can make anything using this single pattern – you name it! Granny square earrings, very nice and chic necklace & bracelet, beautiful and colorful long scarf, skirt, dress, shrug, blanket, slippers and even fingerless gloves! Wow.. 1 single traditional pattern can do a lot of things.
I’m on a mission to create something unique out of it, which I call it “It’s not your granny’s” series 😀 hehehe..love the name. Just fyi, in my family, nobody’s crocheting or knitting except me >.< Well I didn’t have the genes with me – my teacher is purely Youtube! 😛
So, here is the first from “it’s not your granny’s” series – “it’s not your granny’s slouch hat!” 😀
Light blue and dark Khaki
Light pink and purple
This is from the back, it looks gorgeous when you wear it, also your color combinations will make a big difference!
While laying flat – it’s tall enough to show the wavy top
I dragged my husband to be my model – he loves the hat! The pattern is completely freehand – means that I frog it so many times just to get that particular shape as I wanted. I’m thinking to write the pattern, what do you think?
Ok let me know!
So, let’s move to the 2nd one – “it’s not your granny’s cowl” ^^
What do you think? Also freehand – means, I have to check it again before making the 2nd cowl 😛 I have short term memories lost all the time – forgot to write the patterns and forgot where I put the written patterns >.<
Ahh my bad – I forgot to take pictures of the “it’s not your granny’s bracelet” – ugh! no worries!! I will post it soon with the others 😉
So, leave me comments if you want the pattern for the slouch hat and cowl!

Thank you, Julia!! 🙂
Gorgeous, Aurelia! I love both the hat and the cowl. You should definitely write the pattern up, it’s adorable. 😀
Thank you for your support, Amber!!! Now I need to sit down and try to remember which hook sizes I used, lol! Thank you!!! X
