Hohoho I love this, leftover rice, leftover cabbage, leftover chili pepper, and that’s it! I have nothing left in my fridge now. I don’t like to throw leftover food or vegetables, so, here it is, my magic fried rice! I can’t call this Indonesian, because I’m not using Indonesian wok, it’s not Chinese fried rice, because I’m not using oil from pork fat..soo…it’s just Aurelia’s then! 😀
Anyway, you can also do it without waiting for those “leftover” things in your fridge, you can add chicken, shrimp, or any other vegetables, do as you like!
This simple recipe I got it from my father. He taught me how to cook a “fast” food when I was a kid and I remembered that he was doing it a lot of times to feed the whole family 🙂
Ingredients:
- a bowl of leftover rice – make sure the rice is dry!
- leftover cabbage, cut in thin pieces
- leftover chili pepper – if you are crazy of spicy food
- 1 clove of garlic, chopped
- soy sauce for taste
- chili sauce/tomato sauce for coloring
- a bit of oil
How to make it:
- Heat oil in the wok and add in garlic and chili pepper (if you want to make it hot) — you can add chicken/shrimp/mushroom at this time if you want
- Stir it for a moment and add in cabbage
- Mix it well, and add in a bit of soy sauce to give the taste to cabbage
- Add in rice, mix mix mix
- Add in chili sauce/tomato sauce, just a little bit, for coloring only
- Mix mix mix
- Add in soy sauce for the last taste and serve before the cabbage becomes too soft
- Serve with fried egg if you like
1 serving only
