Calamari Butter

One of our favorite seafood, Calamari!   We’ve been trying many different sauces but this modified butter sauce. I was trying to remember the ingredients from my family, yet I couldn’t find some of the spices here in Cyprus, so that I have to go by my own taste!

I went to the kitchen, spent almost 1 hour, and here we are…fried calamari in butter sauce ala Aurelia 😀

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg Calamari ring
  • 5 cloves of Garlic – chopped
  • 2 Onions – thin sliced
  • 4 spoon of Butter
  • 2 spoon of Sweet Soy Sauce
  • 2 spoon of Soy Sauce
  • 1 spoon of Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tsp of Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp of mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp of Tomato Sauce
  • Black Pepper
  • Coriander
  • Lemon
  • Oil

How-to-make-it:

  • Marinate calamari with lemon, black pepper and crushed coriander for 30 minutes to eliminate the fishy smell on it
  • After marinated, deep fry calamari for 5 minutes, drain up and put it aside
  • Prepare saucepan, heat the butter, add chopped garlic, sliced onions, mix it well
  • Add fried calamari and add all of the sauces above
  • Add black pepper
  • Stir it well for another 5-10 minutes until calamari is cooked
  • Serve with steam rice
