One of our favorite seafood, Calamari! We’ve been trying many different sauces but this modified butter sauce. I was trying to remember the ingredients from my family, yet I couldn’t find some of the spices here in Cyprus, so that I have to go by my own taste!
I went to the kitchen, spent almost 1 hour, and here we are…fried calamari in butter sauce ala Aurelia 😀

Ingredients:
- 1 kg Calamari ring
- 5 cloves of Garlic – chopped
- 2 Onions – thin sliced
- 4 spoon of Butter
- 2 spoon of Sweet Soy Sauce
- 2 spoon of Soy Sauce
- 1 spoon of Oyster Sauce
- 1 tsp of Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tsp of mayonnaise
- 1 tsp of Tomato Sauce
- Black Pepper
- Coriander
- Lemon
- Oil
How-to-make-it:
- Marinate calamari with lemon, black pepper and crushed coriander for 30 minutes to eliminate the fishy smell on it
- After marinated, deep fry calamari for 5 minutes, drain up and put it aside
- Prepare saucepan, heat the butter, add chopped garlic, sliced onions, mix it well
- Add fried calamari and add all of the sauces above
- Add black pepper
- Stir it well for another 5-10 minutes until calamari is cooked
- Serve with steam rice
